Journalist and Senatorial aspirant Raffy Tulfo believes that former Senator and presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos does not need to apologize for the achievements of his father, former President Ferdinand Marcos.
In an interview with the ANC, Tulfo said that it is not necessary to pass on the guilt of their parents to the child.
“Para sa akin kasi kasalanan nung tatay, bakit magiging kasalanan ng anak? Why would he apologize for something that he didn’t do na ang may kagagawan ang tatay niya? Para sa akin yan, opinyon ko ‘yan," Tulfo said.
Tulfo also experienced being involved in the controversy of his relatives even though they are not really doing anything wrong. It will be recalled that Tulfo’s brothers Erwin and Ben were involved in the controversial deal between the Department of Tourism and BITAG that reached 120-M.
“Bakit ‘yung kasalanan ng isang kamag-anak ipinapasa sa isang kamag-anak? Because I myself have been a victim of that na just because may issue ‘yung mga kapatid ko, na kaapelyido ko, pati ako nadadamay. Dapat hindi tayo ganun mag-isip mga Pilipino," explained the journalist.
Tulfo, on the other hand, believes that BBM has the right to clear his name and prove that he did nothing wrong. Tulfo also said that the court should be left to decide on BBM's father's cases.
“Kung may court decision na, pabayaan na korte na mag-implement niyan. Kung ano pending, so be it. Hayaan natin gumulong yang kaso na ‘yan sa korte," he said.
Meanwhile, Raffy Tulfo was also asked if he will support in favor of giving another franchise to television network giant ABS-CBN.
Tulfo Explained that he only sided with the 10,000 ABS-CBN workers who lost their jobs after the congress scrapped the company's additional 25-year franchise.
“Of course. Kasi why I’m pro mga manggagawa na naapi, nawalan ng trabaho, na nadedehado. In this case I know mahigit 10,000 na empleyado ng ABS-CBN na nawalan ng trabaho because of that. Ilan sa kanila ang may pinapagatas, may relatives na inaaalagaan…paano na yun, nai-stop yun lahat," Tulfo said.
ABS-CBN became controversial after it was accused of not paying the proper taxes and several other alleged violations of the law. These issues are the reason why the ABS-CBN franchise did not get through.
He also spoke about the criticism he received from netizens back then for comparing him to the 16-M and the 42-M. According to him he was not only understood by netizens who criticized him back then.
“Na-misunderstood nila ako–36 million ng followers ng ABS-CBN Entertainment versus 16 million baka magkaclash pagdating ng time na idadaan sa referendum pagdating sa reopening ng ABS-CBN," the journalist explained.
It will be recalled that almost half a million subscribers of the journalist dropped out because of his comments.
Although many have dropped out of his subscribers, Tulfo's popularity continues to top the polls today.
